  • To bring CAMP to meet the nineteen elements of good quality youth's organization.
Objectives:
  • To improve the quality of CAMP working process (a long term strategic plan, an internal and external policy, a documentation, an information sharing, and a good and strong leadership).
  • To build up capacity for CAMP members and children club of CAMP.
Main Activities:

In regards to this initiative, CAMP implemented many activities such as:

Conduct three-days CAMP Annual Conference:

Capacity Building for CAMP's Members in Phnom Penh

       External Training

       Internal Training

Conduct Good and Strong Leadership in term of Children and Youth Workshop

Conduct Long-term Strategic Plan Workshop

Monitoring:

To measure knowledge and capacity of the participants before and after each training course whether improve or not, pre-test and post test was created as a tool to monitor and evaluate. The post-test were used to evaluate the knowledge of participants whether they increase or not. Observation, meeting and reports were used also to monitor and evaluate their capacity.

Through the above monitoring activities, we found out all activities of the project were carried out successfully even we faced some challenges and changed of some activities but due to our flexibility and our commitment, the challenges were solved.

We also found that CAMP's members are able to apply some knowledge from the training to their tasks in CAMP such as design webpage, report writing, and mainstream the children's participation concept in their implementation.

Outcomes:
  • 16 members gained knowledge on Children's Rights, Children's Participation, Workshop Organization, Facilitation Skill, Team work, Project Management and Report Writing.
  • Most of members are able to share their knowledge on Children's Rights to the target group of CAMP
  • 3 members registered and will attend a training course on Administration and Secretary and Office Skill.
  • 1 member gained knowledge on Adobe Photo Shop
  • 1  member gained knowledge on Java Script and Dream Waver
  • 1 member attended a training course on Quick Book
  • 6 Rattanakiri Children Club members gained knowledge on Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel.
  • Most of members can apply the knowledge from the training courses to their works in CAMP.
  • CAMP's policy was added, revised and adopted some points such as the role and responsibility of Program Assistant, Structure, Election procedure, Motivation and working principle
  • Nine  members were elected successfully for nine positions in CAMP
  • Compiled the main points of Leadership such as the style, role, skills, principal characteristic, power, and the obstacle, strategy and the behavior of Child and youth Led organization.
  • Some parts of long-term strategic plan were discussed, revised and approved such as Vision, Mission and Goal, SWOT analysis (Cooperation and Networking, CRC Promotion, Monitoring, Organizational Development and Public Relation and Fund Raising) and Core Value.
Lessons Learnt:

Although there are some changes during the implementation, all activities were carried out successfully. CAMP gained more knowledge and experience in coordinating, facilitating and communicating with all members and other target groups. When organizing training or workshops, we need to coordinate a common time for all members because we are working part time and still study and our study schedule are different. However we can solve these problems by organizing the training/workshop on Saturday or Sunday or available date for all members.
The facilitators have learnt to prepare training documents by themselves. Before each training/workshop the organizers and facilitators always prepare and compile related documents in order to make it easy to understand and fit to what we are currently doing.

CAMP has also learnt on how to develop an organizational development plan and a human resource development plan. CAMP learnt to look for its weakness and challenges and then try to figure it out.

From the above lesson learnt, CAMP will be able to develop the continuous activities and project regarding to organizational development and strengthening more effectively.
