Child Assistance for Mobilization and Participation
(CAMP)
Children and youth are Today and Tomorrow Leaders. Children are not the problems to be solved, but they are solving problems


Project Decription:

1- GOAL:

The main goal of this project is to promote the implementation of child rights, particularly their right to participation in four targets commences of the four targets provinces, Kampong Speu, Kampong Thom, Battambange and Rattanakiri to become a reality.

2- OBJECTIVES:

  • To strengthen capacities and improve skills of Structuring and Coordinating Children Groups/Networks and Child Rights Promotion Methods to children in order to allow them to effectively implement the project activities as well as improve their group management and team work.
  • To encourage and provide the opportunities to the children and youths to apply their knowledge, experiences and skills to address the issue regarding to the children in the communities.
  • To provide children's clubs with the opportunity to initiate and carry out work on child rights and child-related issues, and to show the importance and benefit of children's participation in solving social problems to other children, parents, teachers, local authorities and communities.
3- EXPECTED RESULTS:

  • 20 children club members and 32 child village nets representative in the target provinces will gain knowledge on Skill of structuring and coordinating children groups/networks.
  • 20 children club members and 32 child village nets representative will have the capacity and ability to Structuring, leading and coordinating their clubs and their network effectively for better promoting the implementation of child rights in their communities.
  • 20 children club members and 160 child village nets will gain knowledge on Child Rights Promotion Methods (first course).
  • The cooperation agreement will be made between CAMP and the NGOs partner
  • The 8 new child village nets will be established in order to ensure effective work, collaboration and connection among children in the communities.
  • 8 existing child village nets will continue strengthen, expand and improve their activities in the villages 
  • The children in the target villages will have the opportunities to gain knowledge on child rights especially children participation, other general knowledge and enjoy with entertainment activities through children's local activities and children's village libraries.
  • Children in communities, where the project is carried out, will be supported to promote positive changes for children.
  • 20 children club members and 16 child village nets representative as well as 16 village chiefs will well understand the whole project activities and can find the good methods in promoting the implementation of child rights.
  • Children will be provided the opportunity exchange their experiences and draw up future work plans.
4- LONG-TERM IMPACT OF THE PROJECT:

Knowledgeable and empowered children will be valuable human resources in promoting child rights and in promoting positive action for children in Cambodia society. The importance of child participation will be well recognized in the society. Children will practice their rights to participation through the project and outside the project as well.

5- OPPORTUNITIES AND THREATS

Opportunities:
  • CAMP has a broad and excellent partnership with other relevant organizations and networks.
  • CAMP has extensive experiences in strengthen and building up children's capacity on child rights awareness raising and related skills.
  • CAMP has extensive experiences and skills in coordinating children and young people's groups.
Threats:
  • Participation of school children in the project activities during the examination period.
  • The participation from NGOs partners, local authorities and parents during their business with their core work.
