Child Assistance for Mobilization and Participation
(CAMP)
Children and youth are Today and Tomorrow Leaders. Children are not the problems to be solved, but they are solving problems


History of the Previous Projects:

  • Capacity Building on Child Rights Mobilization Project
  1. From March 2004-December 2004, CAMP implemented a project titled "Capacity Building on Child Rights Mobilization" which was supported by UNICEF Cambodia. The target areas of this project are Kampong Speu Province, Kampong Thom Province, Battambang Province and Rattanakiri Province. This project was carried out with six main activities as the following: 1- Conducted one day project launching workshop, 2- Conducted three days capacity building for child club members, 3- Produced Child Rights and Domestic Violence training manual, 4- Conducted child rights training by child club members, 5- Monitoring, 6- Conducted Evaluation Meeting.
  2. Came from the project activities we gained the results as the following:
  3. In Rattanakiri province one children club named Rattanakiri Children Club was created (it is the first children club in Rattanakiri province).
  4. Through one day project launching workshop 120 children gained knowledge on UN Convention on the Rights of the Child and clearly knew a bout the project activities.
  5. 20 child club members from four target provinces were built up capacity on Child Rights, Domestic Violence, Planning, and workshop organizing and facilitating.
  6. 800 copies of Child Rights and Domestic Violence were printed and distributed to the target children.
  7. Thirty 1 day workshop on "Child Rights and Domestic Violence" were successfully conducted by child club members in 30 villages of Battambang, Kampong Speu and Kampong Thom Province with 580 child participants.
  8. Ten 1 day workshop on "Child Rights" were successfully conducted by child club members in 10 villages of Rattanakiri province with 200 child participants.
  • Making Child Rights a Reality Project
  1. From July 2005-June 2006, a continuation project titled "Making Child Rights a Reality" was implemented by CAMP under the financial support from UNICEF Cambodia. This project target areas are Kampong Speu Province, Kampong Thom Province, Battambang Province and Rattanakiri Province. This project was carried out with six main activities as the following: 1- Conducted One-day Meeting in Four Target Provinces, 2- Attended five day training course on Monitoring and Evaluation, 3- Prepared training documents and assist children to draw their local action plan, 4- Conducted two days Capacity Building for child club members and child village activists, 5- Support Children's initiative local action plan, the implementation of children local action by children and the monitoring on children local action plan, 6- Conducting evaluation meeting.
  2. Came from the project activities we gained the results as the following:
  3. 2 CAMP's members well understand on Project Monitoring and Evaluation through the attending a training course on Project Monitoring and Evaluation
  4. The good relation and cooperation between Child Club members, child village nets and local authorities were strengthen through the project activities.
  5. 20 Child Club Members and 80 child village nets were built up capacity on Fundraising, Communication skill, Project Monitoring and Evaluation, Case Study and Administration work (Letter in and out)
  6. 150 training books on Project Monitoring and Evaluation, Communication Skill, Fund Raising, Case Study and administration work ( letter in and out) were prepared, printed and distributed.
  7. Four Children's initiated proposals focusing on promoting children rights, and children participation in addressing the issues of children drop out of school and primary health care issues, were prepared and carried out by children in 8 villages of the four target provinces under the financial support from the main project.
  8. 31 children who drop out of school returned back to school
  9. 6 families, who attended the training on "The Promotion of Primary Health Care", constructed and used the toilets
  10. 8 child village nets were created in 8 villages of Kampong Speu, Kampong Thom, Battambang and Rattanakiri Province. Note: Among the 40 villages, which child club members conducted the workshops on Child Rights and Domestic Violence in Capacity Building on Child Rights Mobilization, we selected 8 villages to create these child village nets.
  11. 8 child libraries were created by child club members in 8 villages of Kampong Speu, Kampong Thom, Battambang and Rattanakiri Province.
  12. Children Club and Child Village Net:
  13. Children Club is the province and district level team. Children Club plays the roles as the middle coordinator between CAMP and Children in the villages. They also play the role as child peer educators, leader of the children in the province. More over, they play the role in assisting, and supporting the child village nets activities.
  14. Child Village net work at the community level and they work very close with children in the villages. Child village nets were created to be the assistant of child club in promoting child rights and in assisting the implementation of child rights in community level. Another role of child village nets is to monitor the implementation of child rights in the communities
  15. Today in one province we have 1 children club and 2 child village nets that involve direct in the project activities. So in total in our four target provinces we 4 children club and 8 child village nets. Note: 1 children club, there are 5 members and 1 child village nets there are 10 members.
